Click here for photo The hard work of climbing mountains was so gratifying and so enjoyable that it made me feel so incredibly accomplished in ways that I had never felt before. Every new step took me further up the mountain and provided me with new insight as I took time to reflect upon my life. It is hard to put into words how the experience changed my life and how I looked at life so differently. All I knew was that the life that I had known was in the past and that I had to create and redefine the new person that had emerged from within. During my climb I learned how to watch the ground moving forward and focus on my foot holdings and body balance in addition to protecting my fellow man. I learned how to survive under unusual circumstances. I never realized how physically and emotionally strong I was until I mastered the journey
When I returned home I decided that I needed to continue the growth pattern that emerged on the mountains and start my own company. I gave birth to Xaitamax, named after my Grandfather Max a kindhearted, strong, dedicated and determined entrepreneur who taught me the value of life and giving.
My first goal in opening my firm was to provide my clients with personal attention and to focus on their needs, concerns and budgets. My desire was to create a smooth and fun experience that will let them relax while I do the legwork. Concentrating on my creative side gave me an edge in the industry, as it showed my clients a new way of looking at marketing and promoting. My second goal was to enrich my clients business by showing them how to develop a strong presence in their community. I have this incredible ability to network and assisted my new business clients in creating business-to-business contacts that strengthened their business in many ways. For example, working with a near-by business and giving each customer on a given day 25% off their car wash sponsored by both businesses with a gift of a co-branded shammy cloth. People went home and told their friends and requests for the same type of community event became a focus at the local Chamber of Commerce. An eyewear company partnered with a Spa, and provided a discount on sunglasses after a Spa-day, the promotion was a co-branded sun protection set in a handy carrying case. To say that my clients were getting it, and that my business was growing was to but it mildly.
My efforts to guide them in ways that went well beyond the promotional part of my business benefited all parties involved. At Xaitamax we look at promotions as an add-on, as helping our clients gain customers were first and foremost important. Once the customers were coming in then loyalty packages, gifts, incentives, safety kits, and give-away programs targeted towards their particular demographics fell into place, just as smooth a chocolate goes on an ice-cream sundae.
At Xaitamax we also work on a portion of the event planning and provide entertainment, balloons and favors for festivals and private parties. We have created collectible items such as lapel pins in shapes related to my client’s service and brand. Even the bottled water was made with a coupon on the label that brought customers back into the business to use. We encouraged our clients to use punch card to promote discounts on their services. We developed a neighborhood discount program where local businesses offered a discount and 10 businesses were on a card sold by the schools athletic teams. Parents, neighbors, friends bought the card and the schools team made a profit.
Moving forward Xaitamax created a stress reliever that became a mascot for a new restaurant. The mascot was added to all advertising programs and became an associated memory in the community for the business. I encouraged the new restaurant to contact their local insurance company and join forces to present presentations. The insurance company sent out invites to a luncheon where they would promote their program over a free meal. This brought in new customers to the restaurant and gave the insurance company a stage to present. A win-win situation. I provided a co-branded tote for materials and a portfolio and pen so everyone could take notes.
For my restaurant clients I focused on programs that would keep their customers coming back; like mug clubs and discount laminated cards for food or beverage savings that were punched when used. I provided logo'd welcome mats, t-shirts, hats, insulated coffee tumblers and special give-aways for winners of the Texas Holdem Poker Card Game night. We celebrated a themed Hawaiian night with logo’d tropical cups that customers took home as a remembrance of the event. One of my clients had a eco-friendly day, and used an Eco- friendly hot and cold cup and made hot chocolate at their outdoor event so everyone would stay warm. At the end of the day, they also included a take home package of hot chocolate with their logo imprinted.
During a time when people are concerned about their health I instituted a concept where emergency kits were handed out to employees and VIP customers. We use a non-woven bag with a graphic and typeset to identify the bag as an emergency kit. The kit was jammed packed with anti-gel sanitizers, spf lip balms, sun screen, mini-tools, switch blades, jar openers, mylar blankets, water bottles, nail files, combs, rain poncho’s, a whistles, dust masks, Band-Aids, first aid creams, flashlights, first aid booklets, bookmarks, mirrors deodorant, wet wipes, flashing safety reflectors, maps, pen and pad sets, sewing kits and more! For my car dealership I added a digital tire gauge, ice scraper, and an auto first aid mini-kit and for my construction company client I added safety gloves. What better way to show your customer your company cares. Finding new and exciting marketing ideas and in house specialty employee gifts became the strong focus for my company.
Our filmmakers, directors, and entertainment professionals count on us to find unique, cleaver, inexpensive, eye catching and collectible give-always. I showed one filmmaker a jar opener and he laughed and said that is not what I am looking for. Then I explained how this handy little inexpensive item could become the hit of the film festival. I took a 4 x 6 shape and made it look like the face of a deck of cards representing his particular card playing film. Click here for photo It was the talk of the fans and the festival, so much that they continue to return for more ideas and upcoming film festivals when they are premiering a new film production. In addition, I advised him to take a waterproof marker and sign the back making it into a collectible. Our musicians have found that by using our idea of a coaster leave behind (at the venue where they play) with their website address on one side & logo, and lines provided on the other so they can add their upcoming schedule they developed an increase in email requests and their fan base.
Items like poker chips for card game night, pens with customized character tops or pens with images of vehicles on top that really move with friction, custom shaped USB drives, delicious customized chocolate, a plush toy designed as a mascot, key chain bottle openers shaped like a cowboy boot for a country night or a guitar key chain for rock-n-roll night have worked creating a connection with fans.
